Following a great discussion with our CTO, some thoughts on why we need Digital by Design and not Digital by Default when thinking about #digitalhealth https://t.co/zO4mkFTL6f
COVID-19 – led to an increased volume and complexity of Communications messages. Staff are working longer hours in challenging circumstances have far less appetite and time to read this collateral - even in their own time. This ‘overload of information’ means that key communication messages created by the trust are not getting through to the vast majority of staff.
COVID-19 – creates new challenges for staff rostering and ensuring that there is a minimum staff compliment available. No central repository of information that allows the NCA to know which staff members (or family members) have the COVID-19 virus and are currently self-isolating or have had the virus and have now ‘recovered’.
“forms4health” - meets both the targeted communications and COVID-19 symptom collector elements. ‘Smart’ structured forms can locally designed for staff that are quick, easy, and clear to complete. They can provide valuable communications and gather valuable data to inform the patient’s wellbeing and Covid-19 status within their household.
The form can be sent via a text message or via email. You can monitor the effectiveness of your communications as the solution provides the ability to report on how many staff have acted / not acted upon the message is available. Upon completing the structured form and pressing ‘submit’, the data collected is then stored in a clinical data repository containing data collected from across the whole of Greater Manchester. This data is then available to provide management information presented via reports and dashboard created within Tableau. (The reports shown above is purely for illustrative purposes).
Messages that are specific to a particular cohort of staff can be sent that are less likely to be lost in the “White Noise” that is currently created
You know exactly who has/hasn’t read and acted upon the messages sent
The COVID-19 Symptom Tracker allows NCA resources to be targeted. E.g. staff that are self isolating that haven’t booked a test
Provides information across the NCA as to who is available for work
Each solution component is fully secure being governed by the same data standards that currently govern the GM LHCRE Programme.
